It is already March and the year has just flown by so far! I have been working very hard with the fifth grade to create the yearbook. Our first 24 pages were due by March 9 and we were able to make our deadline. We are now working on our lasst 16 pages. The yearbook committee has decided that they would like to have a baby photo page so we are collecting baby photos of the fifth graders to include in the yearbook. It is important to raise some money to lower the final cost of the yearbook to each student. Our bake sale was a big success, we raised $1200. which brings the cost of the yearbook down to about $17.00 per student.
Evolver
In other news, the fifth grade has been testing out a new program called Tabula Digita which is really exciting! The students love to play this video game which tests their math skills in a 3-D virtual world. We will be holding a tournament in April to determine our winner of DimensionM Multiplayer. GOOD LUCK players!
China
The third graders are writing research projects about China using Powerpoint and the Internet. This will teach them invaluable research skills and also allow them to create a finished project using advanced technology. They spent much of the last three months preparing for their math and ELA tests so now we are happy to have a project to work on. Science
The fourth graders are preparing for their state science test now. They have been exploring virtual hands-on websites to practice their science skills and knowledge using critical thinking
