THE YEARBOOK IS HERE
After a wonderful trip to State College, Pennsylvania, to visit the Josten's printing plant where our yearbooks were actually printed, we received our shipment of finished books! I can't tell you how excited the kids are, they have been reading them, looking at the photos and signing each other's books. It has just been very exciting to see. The trip itself was amazing. the students were able to see, first hand, the entire printing process and actually see the presses at work. We walked through the plant and touched the machines and plates and some pages of other books. Then we were able to preview our own book. Boy, were we proud! Our yearbook is extremely colorful and creative.
We were on the bus at 6:00 a.m. for a LONG ride down to the exact geographical center of PA where the printing plant is located.
State College also happens to be the home of Penn State University so, of course, we visited the campus for a short time. There was so much to do and see that we all said we wish we could have stayed longer. The highlight was the Berkey Creamery where the college of Agriculture makes their own fresh ice cream in 45 different flavors from fresh dairy that they get from their own cows. It was so delicious!
We went shopping at the Penn State Bookstore and bought a few souvenirs of our wonderful trip.
We returned to Ridgewood at 8:45 p.m. tired, but happy and knowing that we have a wonderful yearbook to hold all of our memories from PS71, class of 2008.
