JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT DAY

Ms. Munoz' class participated in Junior Achievement day...the class learned about being entrepreneurs. Students from Grover Cleveland High School came to share their knowledge, it was a very productive day.

JANUARY!

PHEW! We are back from vacation and we really hit the ground running. I hope everyone had a wonderful time over break and that everyone is ready to learn more about computers!

The FIFTH graders are beginning their projects that we call "Digital Portfolios" This is a project that we will be working on for the rest of the year because it encompasses all of our work and packages it all up neatly on a website! The students are very excited about this and have already begun creating their pages.

The FOURTH and THIRD grades are focusing on Think.com which is a safe interactive website where students can communicate with other students all over the world as well as in their own school. This website is monitored by teachers in all of these schools so it is a protected environment where children can learn about effective communication and using the computer as a communication tool. Our goal is to establish pen pals from other communities and to video conference with a class across the ocean.
